This was the first pair of Provision 6 I have tried. They definitely ran a little small, so I had to order a half size up. Even so, I am returning them. I'm used to the softer feel of the Altra Torin. The Provision has a stiffer ride. Even though I haven't been able to wear the Torins since they made changes to the tongue that cut in to my ankles, a reviewer suggested the Torin Luxe and I have to agree - softer feel but supportive and a nice padded tongue. My only beef is that is blistered the inside of my right foot a little. Overall the shoe is incredibly comfortable. I have a flexible flat foot which makes my foot slightly wider than normal when standing but not wide width so shoes are difficult. I simply bought athletic tape to put on that area. I still like the shoe.Once I discovered these shoes I haven't gone back to any other running shoe.I'll start by saying Altra is my brand, and provision WAS my shoe. So when I saw the Provision 6s, I was elated, until I tried them on. Immediately I knew they had changed something significant from the 4 & 5 version to the 6. The width of the shoe is more narrow in the mid than before, which to me, is a big deal. The 6s have lost the stability of the 5s prior. I wore these one time and the comfort level of the shoe has decreased from previous versions, I immediately started to feel knee pain.Ultimately I returned this and ordered a pair of Provision 5s.Love Altra, but this is just a huge miss with whatever they changed with the Provision 6s.These are not like the previous altars I have purchased. They’ve changed material used on them. The heels feel like their made of cardboard. They’ve changed what they call the guardrail. Width is smaller ( per speaking with customer service). They’ve removed the rubbery guard on the toes. I really don’t care for them. I don’t feel any support and would return if I could.Very comfortable and easy to break in! Fit as expected.I walk between a 13- and 15- minute per mile pace. I find this zero drop gives me the support I need for my turnover. I do size up to a women’s 10 to give me a little more room for my toes/feet.Light and cushioned, very comfortable. My feet are wide, Altra is my goto brand. Toes don't feel sqeezed after long run.Shoe laces could be longer though, but it's a minor problem.
