I have been looking at various footwear brands that are considered to offer more support for your feet and this led me to Naot. I broke my foot (5th metatarsal fracture) seven months ago and still seeing a physical therapist to regain range of motion, strength, and mobility. I also have recurring plantar fasciitis and wear orthotics with my tennis shoes. I have been wearing tennis shoes since my break, but with summer rapidly approaching and my strength and ROM of foot improving, wanted to try to find sandals that would give me the support I need. This is my first pair of Naots and I just received them so these are my initial observations. They appear to be very well made. The leather is a little stiff (not to the point of being uncomfortable) but I think should soften up and mold to my feet in time. Out of the box, they are very comfortable, like really comfortable. I like the way this shoe has a leather band and that encloses your foot on the sides but opens at the toe and heel (with Velcro straps that you can tighten or loosen as needed). I’m still in a protective mode with my foot and these just feel more supportive to me now. The footbed is slightly more narrower than my Birkenstocks and is perceived to feel softer, slightly more cushioned. I normally wear a 6 1/2 and these are a 38 and it is a nice fit. The only negative I have at this point is that they are expensive, like I typically don’t buy shoes in this price range. But with that said, my feet issues have led me to investing in footwear brands that are designed for foot health and I hope I have discovered this with these.
