Would be a little hard to zip for smaller kids or people with diminished hand strength. My 14 year old loves them. She has been showing off the trick of unzipping them to everyone.Not designed for afo use, which is why I bought it. First pair bought was normal size thinking surely a shoe designed for afo would have extra room for the AFO but I couldn't even close the shoe without it. Next pair went 1 and 1/2 sizes bigger. Now shoe is to long and is still to tight for the afo. I had to remove all inserts to use zipper function and still have to use a lot of force to fully zip it. Only have the second star for the design I still think is a good idea just boogles my mind how poorly thought out the finished product is. I would've paid double for a true AFO compatible version of this shoe. I know now why returns are free.LOVE these shoes. I bought another pair in a basic color. These are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned! And I have to use an AFO. Don’t worry, even with the zipper these shoes are very fashionable!As long as you measure the leg braces by their sizing guide, they are a perfect fit!Works grease for my leg brace!
