Used for work in Quality control, a piece of material shavings from machine went thru the soleThe chip is stuck inside cut a couple of my socks...was wondering why and why it felt like there was something in my shoe bugging my foot, turns out when I meticulously examine the sole it showed a cut and the chip was visible while using a staple remover to open up the cut.I've had Caterpillar shoes of quite good sole quality, not this one set.I wear a suit to work every day and was tired of replacing my dress shoes. Im not actually expected to wear a suit at my job but buying a new suit every once and a while and finding interesting ties is a hobby of mine. I say this to indicate that my wear of suits is a little more casual than most occasions i.e. I wouldn’t suggest wearing these shoes to your wedding (unless you’re wedding is in a factory where heavy machinery can fall on your foot; then these shoes are perfect ?)I used to buy nice Bostonian or similar shoes, but if you wear a typical dress shoe to work every day, they fall apart in about 4 months. I ordered these to break the cycle of constantly replacing my shoes. Cost is one thing but it’s also just increadibly frustrating to go to work with shoes that are starting to wear and break more each day until you finally decide to replace them.I ordered these shoes and was even more impressed with their looks in person. They were a great fit, but for the first week or so the right shoe kinda poked me in the bottom of my foot from inside the shoe. I was committed though and I’m glad I kept wearing the to break them in. Now they are perfectly comfortable and I love them. Some people have commented that the shoes didn’t keep there original luster long. I experienced this too and tried to keep them oiled and polished but, I eventually took them out on a dessert hike and the day after I realized that the leather actually looks really nice a little scratched with a light coat of dust. I think that since these are a heavy duty shoe it looks unnatural to keep them cleaned and shined, but just like metal rings, after some wear they end up with a nice matte look.Best shoes I’ve ever owned. Love them.I purchased these as a smart looking steel-toe for what I'd consider light duty. I use these on a small Shipping and Receiving Dock. They do look great, but they'll mark up fairly fast. So do not expect them to look perfect long if you do any actual work. If you're in a position where steel-toes are required but you do not expect to do any real labor, these would be great. There was a minor break-in period. Nothing out of ordinary per a leather boot. Wear them a lot at first until you're feet start to get sore spots. Within a week or two mine were comfortable. One thing I noted, the shoelaces came apart fairly fast. I got them in winter, so this might have been exposure to rain/snow. But just keep in mind you may need new laces fairly soon. On the other hand, these things have proven quite waterproof.Overall, very worthwhile buy. Not a bad price, good fit, and smart look. With real use they'll mark up fairly quick, but what would you expect from a brown boot? I'd recommend it so long as you know what to expect. Also, not a bad looking shoe for a steel toed.Excelente muy buenos Durán hasta que se acabanI average around 10k steps a day in these and love them...hold up very well and are slip resistant ..i work around food grade oil and water at times when doing tours through operations and the shoes grip very well.Well worth the money spent..I like the comfort. They are not "boxy" or overly heavy. They seem to be rather water resistant. These are much better than my previous safety shoes.Theses shoes fit well right out of the box. I am in industrial sales and I like these steel toed shoes because I can wear them when I visit my customer's facilities and not have to worry if we have to go out into the plant since they provide my feet with the required protection.
